The Poisson's Equation for Gravity
Einstein came up with the Poisson's equation to formalize Newton's theory of gravity. The second derivative of the gravitational field is equal to the density of matter inside that region. It doesn't prove it but it helps you to understand why Einstein thought this in the first place. We don't often talk about it by that. Often you talk about it in terms of the force equation.
