The Great Serpent

A sailor was tossed into the ocean by a storm, but survived. He washed up on an island and made sacrifices to thank the gods for his survival. A giant serpent told him he would be able to return home in four months with gifts of laudanum, oil, spice, balsam, and insents of the temples. The ship's king then promoted the sailor into a higher position. And after many more adventures, the sailor ended up safe and prosperous at home.
