The G C M S Experiment - The Final Nail in the Coffin

Before launch, the g c m s had said there was no organic material in antarctic soil. But they were in such a rush to get ready for the launch that they put the test on board the viking probes - despite its demonstrated failures. Eventually it was concluded that the problem was that the test was not sensitive enough to detect small quantiti of organics like you'd find in martian soil.
