Stuart Robert's Sacking After a Trip to Beijing
Stuart Robert was sacked after a trip to China in 2014. The assistant defence minister took personal leave for the trip. He paid his own way and attended a signing ceremony between Nimrod Resources, which is owned by Paul Marx, and Chinese Communist Party officials. It gave the appearance at the very least of a conflict of interest, which was a breach of the ministerial code of conduct. Parkinson: How does this bloke get more responsibility in your reshuffle? Because he's done an outstanding job in the one that he's been doing.
