Soybeans and Soy Foods: A Comparison

Soybeans and soy foods are good sources of protein, low unsaturated fat. So many people gravitated towards soy foods for those two reasons alone. In 1990, the National Cancer Institute in the US funded about $3 million worth of research looking at the potential role that soy may have in reducing risk of cancer. The focus was largely on the isoflavones or plant estrogens in soy. If you consume a diet that is high in soy, your diet is going to be quite high in isoflavone. if you don't consume soy, it's almost devoid ofIsoflavones.
