What Are the Melanosomes?
The pigment melanin lives in the epidermis, or quasi dermis. Melanocyte octopus looking cells are organelles and they're called melanosomes. Once it's there, it's in the keratin cells of your hair,. which are different than the keratin Cells in your skin. Some hairs have melanosomes that are just like clumpy distributions. Others are a little bit more evenly distributed across the hair. And all of that variation influences how dark it looks.
