Is There a Difference in the Degree of Specialization in Machine Learning?
We are very different from our primate relatives in that human specialized to a degree that is not seen in any other animal. We constructed some visual sequences that were designed to allow us to make a reasonable set of assumptions about what kids would be expecting so each display had three boxes with three unique objects in them and they pop up in some order. At each point in the sequence, a baby either continues looking in which case the sequence continues to unfold, or they can look away in which cases the sequence terminates.
