The Problem With Spotify's Vacuum Process

Spotify was apparently generating a huge amount of data on a daily basis, like gigabytes of data per day. The culprit turned out to be a vacuum process for a database file containing the string mercury dot DB. Spotify has already rolled out an updated version of its desktop application.
