The Origins of the Stardust

Carter Valentich was apparently obsessed with UFOs, so maybe he just had an overactive imagination. Some believe that's exactly why he was taken, that perhaps he got too close to the truth. Like the stardust before him, no one knew what had happened or where he'd gone. According to some experts, the star Ariel had a design flaw that made it more flammable than your average aircraft. Likely, the plane exploded and sunk into the sea - but how come nobody found the wreck? A mountain doesn't just swallow planes whole, but an alien spaceship might.
