Do You Write Tests When You're Just Playing Around With the Data?

So many people say, like, oh, just learn on a jupiter note book. I feel like the the a trap that my brain falls in to. If you start with small known values, a, then you can work out by hand what the right answer should be. And again, write tests for those transformations or whatever. Do you write tests when you 're just doing d a, when you're just playing around with the data to explore it? Or is that like a separate mode? That's an interesting question.
