Cunan doyle said he wanted to see the phenomenon replicated before disinterested observers. Did that happen, up to a point. Fairies are normally seen by children and people with psychic powers. And according to the theory, they won't usually manifest for normal people. So they wouldn't come out for just anybody. They did trust the girls, however, so they were willing to come out for them and be photographed again. The fairies only came out in good weather, when it was sunny. But bright, sunny weather isn't always on offer in yorkshire.
