The Ancient Equivalent of Modern College Culture

The Greeks love to sports as much as they love to drink. Did the Greeks also before the Olympics or any of their Pan-Athonaic festivals, any of their religious festivals, do we have evidence of tailgating taking place? We would call tailgating. Obviously it's a modern word with the Greeks shotgunning a beer on the field development.
