The Relationship Between the Labour Party and Think Tanks
The Fabian Society has an extremely strong relationship with the Labour leadership. The right wing think tank scene is just much, much bigger than the left wing Think Tank world. There's not enough shadow government capacity to come up with detailed plans on every issue they might want an idea. So there are some areas where Labour's doing very well in terms of fleshing out detailed ideas ready to go for the first year of a new government. But there are lots of other areas where they just don't have the capacity either inside the party or the sort of think tank scene around to be ready to go.
