In 1973, Selch left for France to study medicine and tour in the Luach Valley. In 1987, he permanently moved to Paris to devote himself to his studies. Vivienne caught Selch's attention at every meeting she attended. The two fell in love while bonding over their commitment to social justice on their islands.
