The Future of Digital Twins
During a big earthquake, someone has to decide what buildings are safe and not safe. This can take a day or two or three where you've got people in a very chaotic state. In some cities this is actually being done by adding sensors accelerometers - basically the same motion sensors we all have in our phones. They put them in a building and it's connected to the Internet during a quake. You can see how a building shakes but even no earthquake at all buildings are moving. The police, fire department, building department, all of those emergency planning departments could use digital twins to tell which buildings should be evacuated first.
