The Importance of Using Maggots in Wound Care
There is an inherent and cultural dislike of things like maggots, creepy crawlies. Most nurses who are lead wound care in the UK only prescribe maggots as a last resort. Wounds can stay stagnant for years after they've tried everything else that they possibly can. And then you put maggots on for four days and you see the turnaround is absolutely amazing. But it's just the last thing people look at.
