Platforms Are Governing Societies

There's an American ecosystem where the platforms are controlled and organized by five big tech companies, of course Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon and Microsoft. There's a Chinese ecosystem of platforms that is dominated by three mainly big Chinese companies by do Alibaba and Tencent but of course the Chinese ecosystem is controlled by the Chinese state. We're having this conversation at a very interesting moment. It feels like platforms have never been more powerful. In short in some we really need to reorganize but also first reflect on how that what that public space should look like.
