The Story of a Sense Outdoors Shop

In 1993, the shop began as a general use sporting goods store named Second Bounce. In 1996, Greg Shaw bought Second Bounce and slowly traded out the bouncy inventory with gear for backpacking, camping, climbing, backcountry skiing, and biking. He changed the name to Second Ascent in 2001 and moved the shop to a highly trafficked area of Ballard. Jason Zabriski, a self-described gearhead who lives walking distance from the shop was regulars.
