The Ego Reborn
The reviving of the ego occurs because of karma. It occurs because the soul, it's hard to put that in simple terms. The energy is transformed in the wrong way. There are certain laws in nature that determine how things arise and fall. When you return once again to the wrong action and you fall, nature automatically revives the latent seeds or the latent forces which reside in the depths of the psyche. Does that make sense?
