How to Be a Trust and Inspire Leader
The need for trust and inspire is sort of glaring. It's hard to not understand that it's a lead of the times, says Stephen Krasnoff. The first step we can take is to really kind of become stuff aware of our fundamental beliefs, he says. And so challenging yourself on those and asking some questions will help you make this shift from command and control to trust and inspire.

Stephen M. R. Covey is an American writer and public speaker and the author of the books: The SPEED of Trust, Smart Trust, and Trust & Inspire: How Truly Great Leaders Unleash the Greatness in Others. He is the co-founder and CEO of a company called CoveyLink Worldwide and former President and CEO of Covey Leadership Center. He happens to be the son of Stephen Covey, the author of the pathbreaking book - 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
In our conversation, we spoke about how Stephen broke away from his father’s shadows and created an identity for himself over time as a thought leader by building credibility on the business front. We spoke at length about his recent book - Trust and Inspire. I loved his distinction around being Trust and Inspire in Paradigm but Command and Control in the moment. He also speaks about “Enlightened Command and Control” which gives people a false sense of having evolved their leadership style. Highly relevant piece of work in this world of complexity and possibility.
