The Impact of Microplastics on the Deep Sea

Microplastics found in coastal sediments and on beaches, but never in the deep sea. Is it better or worse that they're in deep sea sediments rather than floating around? That's a great question. We know these small particles are ingested by organisms. And we also know that microplastics can absorb other chemical pollutants. So there could be massive impacts on that ecosystem. But I just don't know right now.
