We have kind of a double threat. One is the deliberate denial, not only of the holycaust but of fundamental categories of human ethics. And we also have the kind of natural and tropic forgetfulness that happens when we don't have active, positive education. We're used to a kind of discourse in this country of debate and punch line and tagline. The questions that we're facing about what democracy is and needs to become are big, enduring questions. Those are not the kind of things that we're going to answer on a talk show half an hour.
