The first step for a leader sounds like is to get really, really clear about what your values are. There should only be two or three of these, because if you have too many, it dilutes the important ones and makes people feel like who could possibly adhere to all of those values? Your core values are what's most important. But then there's these other values that can, that also need to be understood.
