In a way you could say these carnival groups were a cult in a sense. A lot of times, at least in the show, there's kind of like the ringleader, the one that's kind of in charge. So it's giving up control in a lot of aspects. They even have their own language, which I found out, which is... Oh, I didn't know that. It was used as classic for like cults or subcultures. The same ideas of being this subculture and tight knit outcast is also fundamentally almost the same as what a cult is.
