In theory, what type of discovery or evidence might persuade an ever-edian toward a different interpretation of quantum mechanics? Well, there's sort of a fanciful answer to this and a more realistic answer. If you could talk to other universes or if you could detect them in some way, that would be a discovery that helps you do it. But I've said this before, I'll just say it again. All the evidence we have that there are wave functions of the away-the-Schrodinger equation counts as evidence for the ever-ed interpretation.
Welcome to the May 2023 Ask Me Anything episode of Mindscape! These monthly excursions are funded by Patreon supporters (who are also the ones asking the questions). We take questions asked by Patreons, whittle them down to a more manageable number — based primarily on whether I have anything interesting to say about them, not whether the questions themselves are good — and sometimes group them together if they are about a similar topic. Enjoy!
