The Blocking of a Scene

The director will say, okay, we'll just have the three of us or four of us will go and look at the location before everybody else will be there. But that's after you've had these initial conversations that are much more about a conceptual idea of a scene than anything else. You kind of walk through the blocking and a possible blocking in a space and figure if, you know, people too far apart or they're too close together is the hallway too short. How can we lengthen it? And this gives you sort of an idea of how you might shoot it too.
