The Importance of Transaction Multiples

When you're thinking about these multiples that are quoted across sectors giving you an industry average and indication of what similar companies may be priced for, even in the lower market there's a couple of companies like BVR trying to aggregate some deals over the past year or quarter. I've used a deal stats database that BVR has put together. It is one of the better ones out there, but you're never going to see that robust of information where you kind of have all the fact pattern that kind of surrounds the transaction and what was considered there.
