The Power of the Dog
There's a sense that no film can fail now, right? And so you have to paint in very broad strokes because you don't want to risk nuance when it's within audience. There are shades of gray and contradictions, which is great and rare in a blockbuster. But I felt that was at the power of the dog. It was, it held my attention but it was an unhurried film. That's because the writing was so good, the performances. Where, I want to learn how to do that.
