The research went from being mostly observational and descriptive to truly mechanistic. People start like cynthia canyon and garry rofkin. Lanny started using the tools of genetics and molecular biology and biochemistry to do mechanistic studies. So it was very exciting, because all of a sudden, you know, i think we all started to feel like we had a chance to really understand this biology.
