FUTURES Podcast

CHAPTER

The Colourblind Artist, Nel Harbison

Nel harbison is a colour blind artist who has an intena surgically implanted into the back of his skull that allows him to hear colour. He no longer sees this antenna as a device, but he sees it as an organ, as part of his body. What i find interesting about what neil is doing is that he is using technology in a way to transcend the limitations of human biological form. It seems to me thetran explorer a spectrum of human possibilities. I think we should have a more horizonal understanding of what a utopia is - one thatit's dynamic in the right ways.
