Getting Away From Automation

In the mid-twenties, Google was writing about how they were using s s h to automate a lot of things. But that would require root access on these machines in order to install and make configuration changes. So an unrelated security mandate allowed them out of this trap. They might not have ever changed had outside factors influenced their thought on it. You know, maybe they wouldn't be where they are to day because of it.
