Saddam Hussein's Poisonous Gas
In 1981, Saddam Hussein is building a nuclear reactor with the intention of building nuclear weapons. In 1988, he uses poison gas on his own people and the Kurdish people up in the Northeast. He invades Kuwait, and he enexes Kuwait, and declares Kuwait to be part of Iraq. It increases Iraq's control of the oil supply significantly.
