I was actually in Conservative Party headquarters on the day that Mrs Duffy incident happened. Everyone stopped working and all went to watch it on the screens. There was just a sort of sense that that was the day the election was won. I think there is often a moment in a short campaign where you just feel the mood change. We decided that we needed a relaunch because if anyone's having a relaunch midway through their short campaign, they've pretty much lost the general election. Peter Mandelson and Gordon decided that there would be some sort of relaunch. And as they were having the relaunch, there was a car crash that happened right beside it.
