Uncommon Knowledge

CHAPTER

The Ascent of Man From Lower Animals

Scientist Charles Darwin doubted the existence of a mind in monkeys. He said that if we started with lower animals and a monkey's mind, well, is there any thinking in amonkey's mind? I have lots of fun with my scientific friends who say they don't believe me when I tell them this. But every single one has told me no - because it undermines rationality. If you knew your computer was the end product of a mindless unguided process, would you trust it? And I smile at them; I say, and you trust it.
