The Chief Justice's Opposition to Affirmative Action
Sally Kohn: This ban on affirmative action shows willful disregard of precedent and 300 years of systemic racism. She says the court has always said that there's a compelling interest in classroom diversity. But it's very difficult to quantify how that benefit caches out in the real world, she says. Kohn: Roberts really kind of goes after these institutions for saying that the benefits they're chasing are goal of training future leaders.
