The Tension Between ORMs and Relational Databases
There is a fundamental tension between object orientation and if you've got a relational database. I was just thought all the ORMs were just a way that people could be a bit lazy and not have to learn SQL. If you're writing something very simple, then an ORM definitely helps you. Then, yeah, you're better off just doing it yourself because that way you actually at least know what's going on like debugging.
