The Pressure to Be Better Than Everyone Else
I feel like there's a parallel to just like Asian people in America overall of being like the model minority, right? Like in order to be seen as someone who can be trusted and be a part of this group, you have to kind of be better than everybody else. The expectation is so much higher. And that's definitely not specific just to Asian folks, right? So you have to be 150% better than your next person just to be able to do the same work. I think it's a personality thing, but it's also because otherwise people will perceive me as not qualified.
