High conscientiousness people can take advantage of opportunities, but high openness people are more likely to get the opportunities or go out and actively get them. So one of the things that writing this paper has done for me is it's actually made me feel more empathetic toward Trump voters. If you have that kind of mindset, like this is a high openness thing trying to get inside somebody else's head.
