The question is whether this move towards the perspective of the universe then dwarfs all of it or if Jason's point to say well assume for the sake of argument that there is no intelligent life beyond beyond earth. i don't want people to think that this is about accolades this is about being known with sometimes the thing that you do is connected with your identity but it needn't be so as may there are lots of people who do lots of good things that impact a large group of people and the identity of that person or the benefactories never know it. It might diminish the recognition that others have of how meaningful that life is but it doesn't diminish the meaningfulness of those lives
