The southern gothic is an artistic subgenre that seems to have similar roots. We'll explore it all with our guest, a poet who inherited that tradition and now writes within it and against it. Hillary Mantell was working on a Jane Austen mashup when she died last year. She'd written about 20,000 words of a book called provocation. And this leads her to wonder if men are being given too much credit by women in general.
