The Night of the Long Knives

In 1933 when he came to power, the essay took to the streets to celebrate Hitler's political victory. And without frighten the German establishment you have thousands tens of thousands of brown shirts on the streets. So that's where that power struggle, and the early 1930s sort of peaked. And that's what put the SS on the ascendancy. But I've got slightly ahead of myself because in 1934 you end up with the infamous night of the long knives, and all the essay leaders are arrested, and, wrong and the others are murdered.
