The Importance of Meditation in Healing Anger

Tiknat Han believed that in order to cultivate peace, we can't just ignore or suppress our anger. He thought this was such an important step that the sixth of his 14 mindfulness trainings is devoted entirely to taking care of anger. Gatha for smiling at anger, breathing in I feel my anger, breathing out I smile. It's a natural experience to be angry, otherwise you're not really paying attention to what's happening. The benefit for me of meditation has been to be able to watch that happen.
