When you grew up as one of seven, particularly as the eldest, I think what you integrate into yourself is more that sense of responsibility for the tribe. My parents had a great expectation that we would take care of ourselves at some level and importantly take care of others and contribute somehow to the world. So it was quite vague in terms of dreams. When I got into university, I actually wanted to be an English major, and that was when my father intervened: You're never going to be able to support yourself as an English major.
