LZ Granderson: The history of transsexuality wasn't inevitable. He says the synthesizing of hormone compounds and plastic surgeries did not inexorably have to lead to a medical gatekeeping model, which is "absolute crap" LZ: I would much prefer a model where you didn't really have to necessarily go through institutional medicine at all the transition. Hormones are not very complicated as medications to take; they're incredibly easy to track.
