The UK has got a cost of living crisis, which means that the cost of energy is incredibly high. This is because Russia has raised its energy prices, because the UK relies on Russian energy. We don't give the UK rely an awful lot on Russian gas but the market price simply shoots up,. There is a mad scramble to get alternative supplies, and the price shoots up. It affects everybody. If someone's energy bill was £2,000, it could go up to £8,000. I've seen higher increases than that. Quadrupleen is what's likely to happen next month. Four times higher. So all the inflation of costs gets transferred to the actual end users
Talking to my parents about events in the UK following the death of The Queen on 9 September, including the media coverage, the proclamation of King Charles III, comments about Charles as King and a discussion of the role of the monarch in the UK’s constitution.
