Gideon Falter: When does the age of the strong man start, according to you? And more generally, our populism in authoritarian is related phenomena, or are they two trends which happened to coincide at this historical moment? Falter: I do think that populism and authoritarianism are quite close to connected. He says a common theme for a lot of these leaders is that they have the strength and the vision to cut through all the problems in the country.
