If you want to make peace use the law of food habituation. There's a gradual way to do this in a slow way and honestly it's up to you which way works best for you most folks that I have talked to have done the gradual way and they did it with me. You can help your relationship with food to feel more peaceful by doing a kind of flooding event or a gradual slow event rather so a quick way to do it. Making a list of all the foods that you would describe as being in the category of being addicted to write them all down.
