International Women's Day
International Women's Day is more than just a recognition of women. Today, it's actually a deep historical tradition that the patriarchy has been fighting against for a long time. I don't know if this is generally realized, but great movements were often started by women. The French Revolution was begun with a march of women in Paris. In North America, one of the first things that the British did in Canada was they very deliberately reversed the matrilineal transmission of power amongst First Nations people.
