Candide's Life in a Castle
This is one of the ones it's worth going out to read. He uses this empirical law or this manmade law or something like that, but at the same time, he's also making a point about how horrible it is. So there's kind of like this double move where he's using it as a critical element and then also simultaneously criticizing it. It's just an allegory of people who are suffering from a lack of a realistic approach to life. That happens more than once for more than one character.
