Every Single Life Matters
My dad used to say that every person is a special case. And if you start to think in generalities about types of people then you're being very unfair to the individuals, and you're missing your opportunity to really know someone. So as soon as people start to split themselves into us and them, then it becomes easy to dismiss, or even to destroy, entire groups of people. Every single life matters. Every single story matters. Anything that derails us from that goal of understanding is politically dangerous. It's something that allows people to ultimately be dismissed,. In the worst case, like is happening now in our country, to be scapegoaded.
